The Kansas City Chiefs were without starting right guard Andrew Wylie for Monday night's game against the Baltimore Ravens.
Wylie was taken to a Baltimore hospital with possible appendicitis, the team said.
Wylie, 26, started 21 games for the Chiefs over the past two seasons.
Veteran Mike Remmers, signed as a free agent during the offseason, started in Wylie's place at right guard.
Chiefs starting cornerback L'Jarius Sneed suffered a collarbone injury and was ruled out for the remainder of the game.
