UPDATE: Draymond Green emerged from the locker room and started the second half.
Warriors forward Draymond Green left Saturday night’s game against the Brooklyn Nets early with an apparent right leg injury.
With 1:32 to go in the second quarter, Green fell awkwardly after contesting a corner 3-pointer by Kevin Durant. Green grabbed for his right knee and laid on the ground for about a minute in pain before limping to the locker room.
A long-term injury to Green would overshadow Durant’s return to the Bay Area. This is Durant’s first game at the Warriors’ new home at Chase Center since he signed with the Nets in 2019. In three seasons in Golden State, Durant won two championships and two Finals MVP awards. Before the game, Green and Durant came together for a handshake and a hug.
Green had five points, five rebounds and four assists in 17 minutes and the Warriors trail the Nets, 66-51, at halftime.
